Michael Tilson Thomas, eighth blackbird and Kim Kashkashian (no, not Kim Kardashian) may have won big on Grammy night, but the pianist Angela Hewitt was robbed: Grammy coverage preempted space for the review of her weekend recital to run in Monday’s paper. Other concerts Post critics reviewed this weekend included the pianist Marouan Benabdallah’s recital at the Phillips; Imani Winds at the National Academy of Sciences; and the guitarists Sergio and Odair Assad at Dumbarton Oaks Museum.
On Monday night I saw a “telematic opera” called “Auksalaq,” which is about global warming and its effects on Alaska. The technology was well and good, but the content needed a little work.
